A non-profit organization since 1967, the Merced SPCA branch is solely maintained through the hard work and dedication of central valley community members. With most of the employees being volunteers themselves, the Merced animal shelter would appreciate additional helping hands to care for animals in need.
Since opening its doors in April 2000, the MSPCA has served as a shelter for dogs and cats that have been abandoned, abused or found lost in the streets. With the assistance from community volunteers, dogs and cats can now be given the looked-for attention that they need.
Volunteering within the SPCA organization has several benefits such as the possibility of changing an animal’s life, creating friendly bonds with the animals and coworkers, learning valuable practices that can be applied to in the near future, etc.
Volunteer Tasks:
If you are interested in joining our great cast of volunteers, download and print the volunteer forms & waiver and mail to the Merced SPCA.
On behalf of the MSPCA, we would like to thank you for your interest in volunteering. We know that time is scarce and giving your time to care for an animal is something that is a priceless asset.
* Note: Volunteers must be at least 16 years or older for insurance purposes. For all volunteers under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign and acknowledge the terms stated in the volunteer waiver form.
